MANILA, Philippines – The country's largest budget airline Cebu Pacific Air is opening up new markets by launching 3 new international routes from Manila, Cebu, and Davao on December 17.
Its operator Cebu Air Incorporated said in a statement that it will inaugurate the following direct flights on December 17:
- From Manila to Fukuoka, Japan
- From Cebu to Taipei, Taiwan
- From Davao to Singapore
"We look forward to seeing the 'Cebu Pacific effect' in the new routes we will operate. We've seen time and again how connectivity and Cebu Pacific's trademark low fares stimulated travel," Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and distribution Candice Iyog said in the statement on Thursday, September 10.
"It has always been our commitment to contribute to the country’s economic and tourism agenda. We will continue to develop our Philippine hubs to offer fast, affordable flights to more travelers across our network," she added.
Cebu Pacific will first launch direct Manila-Fukuoka thrice weekly service on December 17. The maiden flight departs Manila at 2:15 pm and arrives in Fukuoka at 6:55 pm. The return flight departs at 8 pm and arrives at 10:40 pm. Fukuoka is the airline’s 4th destination in Japan after Osaka, Tokyo (Narita), and Nagoya.
The Gokongwei-led carrier will then launch direct Davao-Singapore twice weekly service on the same day. The maiden flight departs Davao at 5:35 pm and arrives in Singapore at 9:10 pm. The return flight departs at 9:55 pm and arrives at 1:40 am. This marks Cebu Pacific Air's first international route from Davao.
The last launch for December 17 will be its direct Cebu-Taipei thrice weekly service. The maiden flight departs Cebu at 9:45 pm and arrives in Taipei at 12:25 am. The return flight departs at 1:05 am and arrives at 3:45 am. This marks Cebu Pacific Air’s 6th international route from Cebu. It also offers direct flights from Cebu to Hong Kong, Singapore, Incheon, Busan, and Tokyo (Narita).
All 3 new routes will utilize Cebu Pacific Air's new Airbus A320 aircraft fleet. Its network spans 63 destinations on 97 routes.
Cebu Pacific Air is also holding a seat sale from September 10 to 13, or until seats last. Cebu-Taipei and Manila-Fukuoka seats are at P2,688 ($57.35) all-in and P6,688 ($142.70) all-in respectively, for travel from December 17, 2015, to January 31, 2016.
Meanwhile, P1,488 ($31.75) all-in Davao-Singapore seat sale fares are for travel from December 17, 2015, to July 31, 2016. – Chrisee Dela Paz/Rappler.com
