MANILA, Philippines – Cherie Mercado on Friday, July 15 left her post as news anchor of TV5’s Aksyon Sa Tanghali to be the new spokesperson of the transportation department.
“Yes, once the appropriate clearances and approvals are secured or given,” Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade confirmed in a text message on Sunday, July 17.
Mercado broke the news in an Instagram post, saying she is leaving the network to join the new administration.
